Overview

After a 2009 $50-million renovation, the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club, Lihue, is better than ever. The AAA Five-Diamond resort sprawls on 800 acres facing Kalapaki Bay and sports its own beach with shallow waters that are perfect for young children.

More than 350 guestrooms at Marriott Kauai feature mini-refrigerators, televisions and balconies that view the ocean or gardens. Families who want more spacious accommodations can stay in a one-bedroom suite. These suites present dining areas, living rooms and spa tubs. Typically, children stay free with parents, and there are five restaurants and a breakfast joint are at the resort. Kukui’s on Kalapaki Beach serves international cuisine for breakfast and dinner, and live music is often offered during weekend evenings at the restaurant. Toro Tei specializes in seafood with a beachfront atmosphere and Duke’s Restaurant has a casual, family-friendly atmosphere.

Kids (and adults) base themselves around the circular five-acre swimming pool, the largest in Hawaii. Along the beach, one of Kauai’s best, try boogie boarding or even surfing in its generally manageable waves. Parents may want to unwind at the full-service spa. An 18-hole golf course is at the Hokuala Golf Club and babysitting is available.

Astounding Resort

Kaua'i Marriott Resort is an amazing property. There is a wonderful pool area and courtyard. There are expensive Asian decor lining the corridors. There are music events and luaus held in a wide lawn area.

Dreadful espresso coffee

by NauticalDreamer3010

My comment relates only to the coffee on the terrace level at the railer of the hotel. I find it hard to believe that in these times a five star hotel can't do espresso coffee. The coffee came from a machine and was dreadful.
