Nestled in Ponderosa Pine Forest, Maswik Lodge is only a quarter-mile from the Grand Canyon’s edge. The modern lodge is split into North and South sections. Motel-style rooms are open year-round and rustic cabins are available in the summer months. Rooms feature televisions and a full bath. North section rooms are more spacious and offer in-room coffee, refrigerators, air-conditioning and cable television. Cabins are small, with ceiling fans and showers. A large, wooden cafeteria opens early and closes late. The front desk staff is happy to guide families in the right direction toward area trailheads, mule rides or helicopter tours.

- Modern motel rooms & summer cabins
- Cafeteria onsite
Room smelled like pet urine. Bedspread torn the rooms need to be updated. Only thing positive is the walking distance to Grand Canyon. Would not return nor recommend. Ceiling fan wobbled and loud. We asked front desk to book a reservation at nearby restaurant which the lady at front desk confirmed with us she did. Upon arrival the host said they did not receive a reservation and we had a two hour wait.
Stayed here with friends the night before and night after we hiked down to Phantom Ranch. The Hiker's Express Shuttle which only runs at 4am, 5am, 6am leaves from the Back Country Info center which is right behind Maswik Lodge (5min walk) and drops at South Kaibab. We hiked up Bright Angel and the trailhead was a quick walk back to our cabin. Parking was no problem.
At Maswik lodge check in there is pizza and beer and also a cafeteria, all good food options.
If you are looking for a 5star room this is not it. if you're a hiker looking for access to trails and shuttles to get you to trails this is the ticket. Happy Hiking!
