Overview

Nestled along the scenic shore of Lake Erie in the middle of a 1,850-acre park, Maumee Bay Lodge and Conference Center offers comfortable accommodations surrounded by a world of outdoor exploration fun for families. This premier lodge includes 120 up-to-date guestrooms and 24 cottages, all with spectacular views of the area park and lake, as well as 256 family campground sites with electrical hookups. Pets are welcome.

Most rooms have two double beds, but there are a few rooms with either one king bed or one double bed and one twin bed, and a handful of rooms including sitting areas and additional beds; Cottages offer two or four bedrooms. Conveniently for families, rollaways and Pack ‘N Plays are available and there are self-service laundry facilities conveniently located in each wing of the lodge. Children 17 and under stay free in the same room as an adult.

At the Maumee Bay Lodge, guests can dine onsite at the Water’s Edge where they’ll find full-service continental cuisine and enjoy beautiful views of Lake Erie through a large wraparound window. Snacks are available in the Icebreaker Lounge.

In addition to family activities at the park such as hiking, biking, fishing, Geocaching, tennis, volleyball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, swimming in the pool or lake, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and sledding, there are plenty of nearby attractions for families as well. Most likely though, you’ll want to stay mostly onsite, enjoying your days outdoors in the park and back in the lodge lounging by the fireplace, playing family games and just hanging out and taking in the natural surrounding beauty.

Darn!

by Divelbissparker

I really wanted this to be a great place for my family who partially lives in Michigan and part in Ohio to meet up. But it didn’t work out. The cottage was cold. The hot tub was broken and we spent a lot of money we didn’t need to spend. Unfortunately this isn’t a good value or a nice place. There’s no saving grace.

Family Weekend Road Trip

I had no idea this place existed. We stayed in a cabin with the family. Plenty to do for kids, and those with an active lifestyle. Great Links golf course, bike rentals, swimming pool, activities at the lodge.
