A Special Place

I loved staying at this hotel about a year ago. It is charming, close to transportation, Central Park and restaurants. The rooms are attractive as is the general sitting area outside the reception area. I would stay there again however, they've raised their prices considerably and that is now a big dent in what is affordable in my budget.
I do recommend it highly!

I loved the Milburn. It was a hidden gem on w. 76th St, just off Broadway. I would book rooms ahead of time on discount sites and get a reasonable rate I could afford. It’s on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, exactly where I wanted to be. The Beacon is a few blocks, there’s a bra shop around the corner, a dry cleaner a block away, wonderful market a block away...perfect location. Bus is 1 block, #1 subway train is either on 79th or 72nd St, so close by. The rooms were cheerful, if just a tad bit dated. The rooms had kitchenettes, nice bathrooms, sturdy door locks and very attentive staff. The views varied, the rooms on the back courtyard were a little darker, but I did not care about a view. They had big tvs and a bid, comfy, clean bed, and I slept great there. The staff would allow food deliveries to my room, and announce their arrival. Sure, there was construction happening on another floor and maybe the door saddle to the bathroom was dangerously sharp.... but I notified the staff and they immediately changed my room for me. Such good service! I seriously LOVED this hotel. Last time I stayed at The Milburn, I stayed there an entire week and did not want to leave. It began to feel like my “apartment”, or “home”. I thought they would close for rennovations, but their website now says “Permanently closed”. I am very sad. I REALLY hope the Milburn returns! ????
