Overview

The history of the The Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa is simple, yet fascinating. It opened in 1900 as a gold mining exchange, where tycoons came to buy and sell gold. When the property became A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa in 2012, it kept (and continues to maintain) some of the original furnishings, including the flooring from the main gold exchange room (turned meeting space). It also still houses all of the gold vaults, of which there are 17 — including one in the lobby and another in the spa!

The hotel caters mostly to adult travelers and business clientele, with an upscale lobby lounge, onsite restaurant, and several meeting spaces. You won’t find a pool here, but the hotel provides passes to the nearby Antlers Hotel for pool use.

The Mining Exchange, A Wyndham Grand Hotel & Spa is located in downtown Colorado Springs (not to be confused with Old Colorado City Historic District), close to many restaurants and stores.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

The hotel's luxurious rooms and suites feel especially spacious thanks to 12-foot ceilings. They also feature iHomes and 42-inch, flat-screen TVs. Most of the rooms are best suited for couples, however, families of four will find enough space in a Deluxe Double Queen room or a suite.

Most of the rooms have showers only (a modernized change at many hotels) that may prove to be an issue for those traveling with small children. Some of the suites have bathtubs, however.

Cribs and rollaway beds are available, as are accessible and connecting rooms.

Guestrooms
Standard guestrooms come in two variations: Classic King (one king bed) or Classic Queen (one queen bed). You can rent a rollaway bed or crib to sleep a third guest.

Deluxe Double Queen
Families of four will need to upgrade to the Deluxe Double Queen, which has two queen beds.

Grand Suites
The hotel's Grand Suites are equipped with one king, two kings or two queens. Some of these suites have tubs.

Executive King
The Executive King offers more space than the Grand Suites, along with a king bed.

Junior Suite
The Junior Suite has a separate bedroom with a king bed, and a living area with a sofa bed. It can sleep four guests (five with a rollaway bed or crib). Some Junior Suites have bathtubs.

The hotel has a luxurious Presidential Suite, but note that it only sleeps two guests.

Reviews

by John P

The staff provided great service. Check in was easy. Everyone was very friendly. Cody provided outstanding service. The roomes were nice. The internet was a little slow, but manageable. The managment went out of their way to accommodate our specific needs. Valet was outstanding.

Superb Location

by Robert C

The location is right in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, many restaurants walking distance. Beautiful Lobby and Decor. Excellent housekeeping & prompt Valet services, although that was an additional $20 per day (reasonable for the area). The room was not large but adequate and the bed was comfortable.
