My family booked the White Oak tree house April 16, 2019. We drove 3 hours to spend one night in a tree house built by Pete Nelson, of tree house masters. We were so excited and impressed with white oak when we arrived. Unfortunately, our stay didn’t go as expected. We had a problem with the shower in our tree house. We contacted management but the shower was not able to be fixed, therefore all water to the tree house had to be shut off. The solutions presented to us were stay at white oak without running water, or pack up our belongings and move to a different location. We were offered a cabin or a smaller treehouse. The smaller treehouse did not have the same amount of beds, so we would have to make the bed situation work. We decided that we didn’t drive three hours to stay in a cabin, so we settled for the smaller tree house. By the time we were situated in the smaller treehouses it was 10:30 at night.
Then during the night, a large gray bug landed on my husbands pillow. We were aware we were in the woods, so no big deal, until a second one landed on my son’s head. At this point everyone was up and the lights came on. There were a few more of these bugs on the ceiling and walls, on both levels of the treehouse (picture included). Gross!
The most frustrating part of our experience was when we attempted to discuss what happened with management through both email and text, we received zero correspondence, which is as frustrating as the experience itself! Never again!

Warning: Make certain of your tree house reservation dates. The Mohicans do not allow any refunds or change of dates. . . .even for a Funeral. I had a two night reservation in January during the more off season and could not move them to another day. My reservations were the only one for those days, all tree houses were available. I offered to pay the extra $ for the other dates available but I was told no. Not a good anniversary celebration at The Mohicans.
