I have never stayed in a motel that had no ice machine. I was told to use the ice maker in the fridge in the room. Got about 7 cubes then it did not make anymore that night. That is not enough ice. Also we had a double bed but it had no light or table on the second side. Very inconvenient for reading or a water glass. Otherwise it was a nice facility with friendly staff.

This was our first try in a My Place hotel and I suspect it will be our last.

The room was clean and minimal but quite acceptable although there were no plates, silverware or cooking utinsels and for an "extended stay" operation, that was a little surprising. The front desk did provide two paper bowls for cerial and two paper plates for some hors d’ oeuvres as well as plastic forks, spoons and knives at no charge.

The online rate was attractive however, after booking a non-cancellable room, a "Booking Fee" of $20 hit my credit card which I did not see mentioned anywhere on the site and that effectively raised the rate above the local Holiday Inn where we generally stay. The mattress was extremely soft resulting in a very long night and there issimply nothing else to attract our business.
