We tried to check in before their office closed at 10:00pm so delayed our dinner. We just got off the car ferry, but no one was in the office when we arrived. Rang the outside door bell, waited and no one responded.
Walked around the place looking for an attendant; no one around. Checked the open garage door no one inside. I prepaid as they requested and wasn’t about to find another place.
Called and left a voicemail left a note on the front desk with my phone number telling them we arrived but no one to check us in. It took almost a half hour before someone called while we ate a late dinner.
Finally got our room about 8:30pm. I was feeling way too annoyed.
If no one can be in the front office to greet guests checking in, leave a phone number where you can be reached.
We recently stayed at Nader’s for the first time. The pros, the rooms have recently been updated and include a microwave and fridge and you can’t beat the location. The pool is great, it was never crowded and the area is kept very clean and has towels provided by the hotel. The cons are minor, there are no fire pits and being on ground level we had to sleep with A/C on because we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the screen of the slider open all night. And although all the guests we met were friendly, the owner didn’t give the warm fuzzies. Check-in was brief and to the point, almost felt like an inconvenience. Throughout the stay that did not change. All in all, it’s a great little hotel.
