The Bahamas’ Cable Beach will get a new boost of life this winter when the Baha Mar Resort opens to much anticipation. The new, $3.5-billion resort will rest along 3,000 feet of beach and will be home to five luxury hotels, the largest of which will be the Baha Mar Casino Resort at 1,000 rooms, a 2,000 seat performing arts center, and the largest gaming casino in the Caribbean.

Families visiting Nassau will also be able to choose from the 750-room Grand Hyatt, 300-room SLS, 200-room Rosewood Hotel, and the all-inclusive Melia Resort, with nearly 700 rooms. Each hotel within the resort will feature pools, restaurants, and family-friendly activities, making the Baha Mar a destination resort with more than 30 restaurants, spas, nightclubs, kids’ programs and a signature 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus.

Note: As of August, the grand opening was pushed back to spring 2015.
