“Alice in Wonderland” turns 150 in 2015, and New York City is celebrating with Alice 150 Week, Oct. 2. to 11 (with many events extending into 2016).

The event, hosted by the Louis Carroll Society of North America, is expected to be “the largest city-wide celebration ever held with a focus on one book,” according to a press release.

Alice 150 will feature themed talks, readings, film screenings, shows, a conference and multiple exhibits, including “Alice’s Adventures at Columbia.” The exhibit will showcase memorabilia from her visit to Columbia University in 1932, where she was awarded an honorary degree.

Alice 150 will include several events just for kids, too, including family-friendly performances, a scavenger hunt and a film workshop, where aspiring filmmakers will have a unique opportunity to create their own version of “Wonderland.”
