Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival Returns to Charleston

The 33rd annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival will return to Charleston, South Carolina, on Jan. 31, 2016.

Ranked one of the top 20 events in the southeast, the event takes place at Boone Hall Plantation. Kids can enjoy the festival’s Pluff-a-Pallooza Children’s Area, Pluff Mud Craft Tent, the Sweet Grass Palace, Pluff Muddy Buddies balloon animals, Pluff Mud cookie decorating, a limbo with local mascots, interactive play area, jump castle and more.

For adults, highlights of the event include oyster shucking and oyster eating contests, live music, and $12 buckets of oysters (approximately three dozen oysters). Cuisine from local restaurants and food trucks will also be available.

The Lowcountry Oyster Festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission is $17.50 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. The festival is rain or shine.
