California Breaks Ground on High-Speed Railway

It won’t happen until 2029, but when a new, high-speed rail is built in California, families will enjoy ease of access between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Trains will travel at more than 200 mph, making the trip less than three hours. Current train travel between San Francisco and Los Angeles takes about 12 hours and includes a transfer.

Here’s an idea of what the train will look like an how it will operate:

The federal government is expected to provide more than half of the funds, while the California High-Speed Rail Authority has secured approximately $6-billion for the project.
