Dollywood theme park in Tennessee will add the world’s first and fastest wood launch coaster to its attractions in March 2016.

Lightning Rod will be a wooden coaster that launches riders from 0 to 45 miles per hour at its start, reaching speeds of up to 73 miles per hour. The ride will include a 165-foot drop, non-inverting half-loop, 90-degree turns, and 12 total airtime moments on its 3,800-foot track. The new ride will be located in Dollywood’s Jukebox Junction and will carry 24 people per ride.

The Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, amusement park first opened by Dolly Parton in 1986, has continued to grow in recent years, particularly with the opening of its first on-property resort, DreamMore.
