Waterslides continue to innovate as designers try to bring more thrills and shrieks to water parks. One new waterslide may make history as the first vertically looping slide of its kind. The SkyCalibre tubular waterslide will stand 90 feet high and propel riders 50 miles per hour through a 30-foot tall loop.

Aquatic engineers at Skyturtle Technologies, based in Canada, are currently testing the new slide. The company plans to install its first slide at Action Park in Vernon, New Jersey, in 2016. The ride, if successful, will break world records for miles per hour riders travel and the number of riders the slide can accommodate in one hour (180 rides).
