The [long-awaited] day has arrived: Four Seasons Resort Orlando is open for business. While the new resort is located within short driving distance (just 4 minutes from Epcot) of Walt Disney World Resort, it’s easily a destination in itself, and one that warrants a few extra days in Orlando. Here’s what families can expect:

Explorer Island
Essentially a water park, this area features a family pool with zero-entry access, two water slides, a splash pad, rock climbing wall, sand volleyball, games and other interactive activities.

Kids for All Seasons
The new hotel offers the chain‘s Kids for All Seasons Program, complimentary for children ages 4 to 12. Housed in The Mansion, Kids for All Seasons features a playground and volcano-like structure. It’s open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with half- or full-day sessions available; evening programs are available on select dates, as well.

Character Breakfasts
Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy & Pals is hosted at Ravello (one of four onsite restaurants) on Thursdays and Saturdays (and Tuesdays, during peak periods), and includes a bountiful buffet and photographs with characters.

Disney Planning Center
Four Seasons Resort Orlando offers a Disney Planning Center, located in the lobby, where families can purchase tickets, make restaurant reservations, and more.

Additionally, the hotel offers two lounges, in-room dining, an adults-only pool, spa, fitness center, golf and tennis courts, and prime views of theme park fireworks.
