It’s a catchy tune you cannot get out of your head after riding “It’s a Small World” at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom. The ride takes guests through a number of “countries” in a slow-moving water ride, with the children of the world singing a song of the same name. Originally premiering at the New York World’s Fair in 1964, with help from Walt Disney himself, the ride appeared first at Disneyland and became so popular it can be found at Disney World and Disney’s worldwide parks. Now, SmallWorld50.com has been set up to invite the world to sing along, while benefiting the United Nation’s Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Visit the web site to record yourself singing “It’s a Small World” and create your own virtual doll. For every doll created, the Walt Disney World Company will donate $1. For every singalong video recorded on the site, it will donate another $1, with up to $100,000 to be raised. The Walt Disney World Company will also donate $150,000 to UNICEF in honor of the 50th anniversary of “It’s a Small World.”

On April 10, 2014, guests of Disney Parks and their cast members will also participate in a worldwide singalong, as well as other celebratory events.

To participate in the singalong or create a virtual doll, visit SmallWorld50.com. Find more information about the various Disney theme parks around the world by visiting Disney Family Vacations.
