The Kansas City Zoo in Missouri is opening its newest exhibit, Orangutan Canopy, later this month. The 3,400-square-foot outdoor habitat will house six orangutans in a natural environment where visitors will have vantage points and observation platforms to provide views from treetops to the forest floor.

The new exhibit broke ground at the Kansas City Zoo last August and includes a renovation of the indoor orangutan room, which now becomes the Orangutan University with climbing structures and a fitness studio for the orangutans.
