Le Meridien Chicago Opens After $25-Million Transformation

Starwood Hotels & Resorts added another property to its collection of worldwide hotels with the grand opening of Le Meridien Chicago – Oakbrook Center yesterday. The new $25-million hotel transformed an existing property into a sophisticated 172-guestroom property in the heart of Chicago’s Oak Brook area.

The new hotel’s 172 rooms are outfitted with 46-inch LCD TV’s, iPod docking stations and high-speed Internet access and include include six spacious suites and a Presidential Suite. The hotel also features onsite dining with its sleek Spanish tapas restaurant, El Tapeo, and offers spa services and spa suites. The hotel’s ninth floor provides a Club Lounge level with special services and lounge dedicated specifically to Club guests.

The Meridien’s decor pays homage to Chicago’s architecture with a large-scale, one-of-a-kind mural welcoming guests in the lobby, referred to as The Hub. Each floor of the hotel’s elevator lobbies showcases images from Chicago’s “L” train, and photographs and custom graphics representing Chicago are found throughout the hotel.
