Spanish hotel operator Melia Hotels International will continue its global expansion when it opens its first property in New York in 2016. The new hotel will be a new construction building on West 27th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, just blocks from Times Square, Penn Station and the Empire State Building.
The hotel will be known as the Innside Manhattan and will be a 20-story hotel with 313 rooms and onsite dining.
Since 2013, Melia has expanded into 40 countries, mainly in the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. It hopes to expand into Los Angeles and Miami in the next several years.
