The final piece to the Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland is finally opening to the public, as the park welcomed members of the media to be the first to ride its newest ride: the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The new ride is the first new coaster to join the theme park in nearly a decade, joining the park’s feature “mountain” rides, Space Mountain (1977), Thunder Mountain (1979) and Splash Mountain water coaster (1989). Disney officially dedicated the new ride this morning, with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, announcing it will officially open on May 28.

The new ride features the cast of Disney’s first feature movie, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” which opened in 1937. Due to its popularity, Disney has made the new coaster suitable for children of all ages. In true Disney style, you won’t find loops and upside down turns. Instead, this coaster features tame ups and downs through a mine setting, where passengers ride the rails in a rustic mine car. The ride reaches a slow tour in the middle, providing a glimpse of the life-like dwarfs before the ride picks up speed again and continues along with the Evil Queen surprising guests at the end. The entire ride follows a 2,000-foot track.

Undoubtedly, the ride will be popular and long lines are expected. However, to counteract the wait, the pre-ride Enchanted forest line area also features entertaining and interactive components. Mining stations with touch screens provide a game area for kids, while they can also make music at the jewel-washing station. The ride will also accept FastPass+ reservations, to help ease the wait.

Guests will need to be at least 38 inches tall in order to ride.
