Though several area hotels are closing their doors, Atlantic City has plans to open a new attraction for families: Garden State Discovery Museum. The museum, which has another location in Cherry Hill, N.J., will span 30,000 square feet and feature a 1920’s theme (think “Boardwalk Empire”), complete with a boardwalk, carousel and bathing tents reminiscent of the era. There will even be a beach and mini replica of Lucy the Elephant, on which youngsters will be able to climb.

The new museum is expected to open at the Claridge Hotel in May, 2015.
