Did you know San Diego‘s Balboa Park will turn 100 next year?

In honor of the centennial, the San Diego Natural History Museum has announced the debut of three exhibits. Starting Oct. 11, families will have a chance to visit “Discovery of King Tut,” which recreates the lost tomb’s discovery.

“Coast to Cactus in Southern California,” an 8,000-square-foot display of the area’s habitats, will debut on Jan. 17, 2015, and on June 12, 2015, “Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed,” will open to highlight all elements of ancient Maya, with a focus on social, natural and spiritual influences.

Other noteworthy displays will include “The Ingenious Dr. Seuss” at the San Diego History Center (2015); “CIRCUS! Science Under the Big Top,” a hands-on exhibit at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (Summer 2015); and “Made in America: Craft Icons of the 50 States” at Mingei International Museum (Oct. 2014 to Dec. 2015).

Other events and new offerings will debut for the 2015 Balboa Park Centennial Celebration; for a complete list, visit BalboaPark.org.
