New TILT Observation Deck Opens in Chicago with Pivoting Skyline Views

Ever wonder what it would feel like to stand 94 stories and 1,000 feet above the streets of Chicago, with 360-degree views? Head to the John Hancock Center, which opened a new sky deck experience over the weekend that does just that.

TILT, a glass-lined enclosure provides visitors to the Hancock’s 94th-story observation deck to step out from the floor and stand 1,000 feet above Michigan Avenue. The experience is similar to the Willis Tower’s Skydeck Ledge, which features a glass enclosed step out from its 103rd story observation deck. While Skydeck is higher, TILT provides a unique experience – the enclosure actually tilts and pivots 30 degrees downward! The tilt allows up to eight passengers at a time to get a view face down – not entirely for the faint of heart.

TILT is now open at the John Hancock observation deck, which has been renamed 360 Chicago. Admission to the deck is $18, with TILT tickets an additional $5. Willis Tower’s Skydeck admission is $19, including the Ledge.
