Orlando Hits Record-Number Visitors

The U.S. Travel Association recently announced that Orlando is the No. 1 vacation destination in the country, with a record-breaking 59 million visitors in 2013.

The growth follows expansions at area theme parks and attractions, including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, the expanded and new Fantasyland at Disney World, SeaWorld’s Antarctica park expansion, and even the addition of LEGOLAND Florida in nearby Winter Park. The growth is expected to continue as the theme parks continue adding more attractions, including the new Diagon Alley and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opening this summer at Universal Orlando and Disney, respectively.

To manage the expansion, new hotels have also been popping up across Orlando. This year, Universal opened its Cabana Bay Resort, Four Seasons enters Orlando with a luxury resort opening at Disney World, and chains from budget to luxury continue to sprout.
