Historic Franklin Square in Philadelphia has welcomed the holiday season with its transformation and its Holiday Festival. The square features a free light show, Friday night events, a Holiday Market and more.

The Franklin Square Electrical Spectacle illuminates nightly with more than 50,000 lights through Dec. 31, 2015. The lights shimmer and dance with the Philly POPS providing a holiday classic soundtrack, alternating shows every 30 minutes between 4:30 and 8 p.m.

Franklin Square Fridays take place each Friday, providing an evening with Holiday Market, fire pit, and a seasonal winter beer garden. Visitors will also enjoy Philly Mini Golf and Parx Liberty Carousel, which will feature holiday music. The beer garden will offer traditional mulled holiday wines, apple cider, German beers, pretzels and food trucks.

Franklin Square Holiday Festival can be found at 6th and Race Streets in Philadelphia. It is open 4 to 8 p.m. through the end of the month.
