A proposed winter sports center in the town of Edina, a suburb of Minneapolis, is facing strong opposition from the town’s residents.

The park, which would cost approximately $3 million, would feature Nordic ski trails, mountain bike trails, a tubing area, and fake snow-making at Braemar Golf Course.

Residents believe the proposed project is too large, too expensive, two disruptive, and is being rushed.

The Park Board of Edina will hear a presentation about the project on Aug. 8. The City Council should expect to consider the project at its first scheduled meeting in September.
