The famed Rink at Rockefeller Center opened today for its 80th season. Kicking off its grand opening for the holiday season at 10 a.m., the ceremony included Olympic skater Sasha Cohen for a first skate of the season.

To commemorate the 80th anniversary, the Rink and its surrounding restaurants, operated by the Patina Restaurant Group, will add nostalgic touches. Music for the Rink will include Billboard’s No. 1 songs from the last 80 years in which skaters can enjoy while performing figure eights. Patina’s Rock Center Cafe will feature a throwback cocktail that was created 80 years ago for visitors to enjoy when they come indoors to warm up. The Skate House at the Rink will also feature historic photos of the ice skating rink from the last 80 years.

The Rink at Rockefeller Center is located on 5th Avenue between 49th and 50th Streets. Advanced packages and reservations may be made online at The Rink at Rock Center.
