RyanAir, Europe’s popular, low-cost carrier, has announced Family Extra, a service that caters to families with special perks for kids. Vacationers now receive a 50 percent discount on travel insurance, allocated seating, checked baggage (which starts at €15 or £15 per bag) and priority boarding. They also enjoy several in-flight benefits, including:

– Reduced infant fees (€20 or £20)
– Free cabin baggage allowances for infants (up to 5kg/11 lbs.)
– Two free pieces of infant equipment (such as a stroller or booster seat)
– Ability to bring car seat (with purchase of actual seat and in addition to the above)
– Changing facilities
– Bottle warming services

Additionally, families receive 20 percent off their third flight.

“This is the latest in a long line of Ryanair customer improvements, following allocated seating, a free second carry-on bag, reduced fees and a new website, and we will next unveil our brand new app and mobile boarding passes in July, followed by a tailored business product, as we continue to offer so much more than just the lowest fares,” says RyanAir Chief Marketing Officer, Kenny Jacobs.

Earlier this year, CEO Michael O’Leary also said he hopes to offer cheap flights between Europe and the U.S. in the near future.
