Sandos Caracol Eco Resort has announced it will renovate its 639-room Family Section in a $20-million project. The new rooms will debut December 23, 2016.

Rooms at the Sandos Caracol, located in Riviera Maya, Mexico, will be transformed from traditional rooms into suites for multigenerational travelers. Rooms will feature newly designed splash pools, upgraded in-room Wi-Fi, and cozy bunk beds and private bathrooms to provide Signature Rooms and Suites that can accommodate a family of four or five.

Renovations will take place across three phases, the first of which will include 92 rooms transforming into 72 Superior Room and 20 Junior Suites. Rates for the rooms will start at $247 per person, per night.

The resort’s other family amenities remain, including the Baby Club for ages 2 to 3, a supervised Kids’ Club for ages 4 to 12, and a Teens’ Activity Program for ages 13 to 17. The new rooms will feature 50 percent off rates for the first child under 12 and the second child receiving a complimentary rate. A third child can be accommodated in a Junior Suite, and receives a 50 percent discounted rate, as well.
