Stratton Mountain, a popular ski destination in Vermont and the state’s highest peak, experienced a set back at its lodge when a kitchen fire broke out last week. The lodge experienced more than $200,000 in damage, including damage in the base lodge, which closed for a week.

Families heading to Stratton Mountain will find the base lodge has reopened and all of the lifts and the resort still operational. Bear’s Den is the only remaining facility still closed, but the resort expects it to reopen this weekend.
