The largest permanent attraction dedicated to “Thomas & Friends” is slated to open in Edaville USA in South Carver, Massachusetts. The family amusement park and heritage railroad will open Thomas Land, just in time to mark Thomas the Tank Engine’s 70th anniversary.

Thomas Land will cover 11.5 acres and will boast 14 rides based on Thomas & Friends train characters, including Diesel, Toby, Cranky, Harold, Sir Topham Hatt, and, of course, Thomas. Kids will visit familiar destinations around the Island of Sodor, including Knapford Station and Brendam Docks. A 20-minute, scenic train ride on a lifesize Thomas the Tank Engine will also be available at the amusement park, which features a roller coaster, Ferris wheel, drop tower and playground for little ones.

Thomas Land at Edaville USA will be the first in the United States. The first Thomas Land opened in Japan in 1998, and the second in the United Kingdom in 2008. It is slated to open in August 2015.
