The beloved film The Sound of Music turns 50 this year. The story of the musical von Trapp family’s escape from Austria during the Second World War became an instant classic starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. To celebrate the special anniversary, Uniworld, a boutique river cruise line, is teaming with Elisabeth von Trapp for special 2015 sailings.

Elisabeth, granddaughter of Maria and Baron von Trapp, will join Uniworld cruises along the Danube River this May through September. Guests of the “Enchanting Danube” sailing will enjoy performances and Sound of Music songs by Elisabeth in Salzburg, Austria’s Mirabellgarten, featured in the film and one of the city’s most famous attractions.

Guests of “Delightful Danube & Prague,” “Danube Discovery & Prague,” “Grand European Discovery” and “Grand European Explorer” cruises will be treated to an onboard “Sounds of von Trapp” performance.
