Do you and the kids spend a lot of time looking at your cell phones, tablets, game systems and laptops? Velas Resorts wants to help you disconnect from the digital world and reconnect as a family on your next vacation with a new Digital Detox Program.

Debuting at the Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and Grand Velas Riviera Maya in Mexico, guests who elect to enjoy the program will find their suites free of TVs, with classic board games available instead. A Detox Concierge greets families and takes all personal electronic devices and locks them away in a safe. In exchange for the electronics, family members are given a bracelet that gives them access to snorkeling tours, bike tours, free facials and massages and ecological tours. Activity bracelets are given for each day and once four bracelets are earned, guests can get electronics back – if they want them. While going through the digital detox, a timer in the resort lobby keeps track of the detox, and family members are given T-shirts they can wear that read, “We are digital detoxing.”

The detox is available at both all-inclusive resorts that includes accommodations, meals, and activities in one price. Rates start at $355 at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and $393 at Grand Velas Riviera Maya.
