Wonderful views, otherwise could do better

by skwee7

We had the most wonderful view of the waterfalls from our room on the 28th floor (out of 31 or so). I'm not sure how good the view would be lower down - of course, getting a room on the 'city view' side is essentially pointless. The room was generally clean though a little worse for wear and there were a couple of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup wrappers by the window. Bed and sofas were comfortable. Jacuzzi tub was good. We didn't order room service as we didn't feel it was good value for money with all the taxes. Speaking of taxes - beware the hotel will try to charge you a 'Local Fee' and a 'Destination Amenity Fee', both of which you CAN ask to be removed as they are fees, not taxes; be really wary of these as the price really does add up. The same is true for anything purchased from the Starbucks in the lobby or the Milestones restaurant. My partner was watching the rugby World Cup final on one of the TVs in the lobby at 5.00 a.m. and was treated very rudely by a member of staff who demanded to see proof of his stay in the hotel, and when our room card was shown the member of staff simply walked off, no apologies offered. Overall worth it for the view, but probably wouldn't return.

family had an excellent stay!...it was everything we've come to expect as titanium platnium members of marriott!...we were upgraded to two corner suites with phenomonal views of the falls!...beds were comfortable and hotel was quiet...valet and bell hop were great sources for local faves...service staff were polite and efficient...we enjoyed the concierge lounge for breakfast and evening snack...{if i may suggest, 24 hour lounge access is wonderful...we've been to several and it's such a nice perk}...we loved our stay and highly recommend to others...marriott on the falls would definitely be our choice on a return trip to niagara!...
