Bad Experience!

by lkujasgslkuhrdouiaer

Dirty room Dirty bathroom Dead cockroaches on the floor No hot water in the morning Maids stole beer out of our refrigerator. The manager Anna called me a liar about the beer and argued with me about what kind of bug was dead on the floor completely missing the point. 3 times I was told I would get a refund and 3 times the manager Anna lied. Why is she in the hospitality industry? I have stayed here for 15 years The new managers don't seem to give a damn!

Don't believe the website!

The Ocean Surf Inn website claims that you wake to the soothing sounds of the Pacific Ocean, but this will only happen if you sleep on the beach - a tempting option. The only sound you can hear inside and outside the rooms is the roar of traffic on the incredibly busy road that runs next to the hotel. The website also claims that construction work would be completed by February 2019 but it's still going on.
The only good thing about our room was that it was on the third floor so there was no one stomping around above our heads. We had booked a ocean view room assuming that it would face the ocean, not the road. However, we were given the jacuzzi room at one end of the building. Thus we were afflicted by windows looking out on three roads, the main road as you entered, the side road and then finally a single glazed door on the ocean side opening onto a tiny balcony that unlike the balconies at the rear of the building got absolutely no sun all day and was too noisy to sit on anyway. It's the one on the first photo. When I queried the room allocation I was told that we had a balcony so that's why it was an ocean view room. We needed ear plugs to get any sleep.
Provision for drinks in the room was very poor. Just two mugs and the flimsiest of plastic cups, no stirrers and feeble selection of drinks. The microwave turntable didn't turn properly. Breakfast was very poor quality. This was our last stop on a driving holiday so we had other hotels for comparison.
We stayed for two nights but our room wasn't serviced.
Trying for some positives - the bed itself was comfortable (the pillows weren't) and the people at reception were helpful (room allocation aside). There are some very nice places to eat nearby if you can stand the road noise.
