The luxurious rooms offer king, queen and twin beds. Adjoining rooms are also available. Families may opt to eat in one of the two restaurants in the hotel or take advantage of 24-hour room service. Kids will love the in-room DVD players and the ability to have adjoining rooms with their parents. We recently returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at the spectacular Lapa Palace.
This is truly a wonderful hotel. The staff from the door men, front office, concierges, room service, restaurant and bar personnel are uniformly excellent, professional and responsive. We were initially assigned to a lovely suite without a view. I remembered from our last visit some rooms had beautiful views. Upon my request, we were immediately reassigned to Room# 500. What a glorious suite with a spectacular view from our room and balcony which overlooked the pool and the Tagus. We ordered room service twice and the delightful and very professional Joao delivered our food both times. Joao is a wonderful asset to the hotel. Last Friday evening we returned from a disappointing Fado show and went to the hotel bar where the most delightful and charming piano player was holding court. The piano player had knowledge of a very extensive list of popular tunes and was an excellent pianist. It was a really fun experience. I have two recommendations for the hotel. One add mouthwash to the list of things available for guests. Secondly, install an ATM as the hotel is in a residential area not that close to a bank. For security reasons, I always prefer to use the hotel ATM.
My compliments to everyone at the Lapa Palace. It Is truly one of the "Leading Hotels In the World." We would definitely return to the Lapa Palace.

Great service, we'd go back in a second.

We found it extremely comfortable, very quiet, charming location, very well maintained and the staff couldn't do enough for us.

Our flight got in at 6 am and we knew that the hotel was full and we might not be able to get into a room until midday. They fed us a great free breakfast, we went to the spa and by 9 am they had our room ready where we happily went to sleep after a night flight from the US. The grounds with their fountains, terraces and pond and the birdsong in the mornings were delightful and well kept.

Getting to the city center, however, is either by taxi (not expensive) or the 25 tram, which we found had irregular service, but is a lot of fun. There are a few ok restaurants within walking distance if you don't mind hills. We would go back in a second.
