Overview

The Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade isn’t located in downtown San Antonio. Instead, it’s situated along (but tucked away from) a stretch of highway just a few miles away, where it’s surrounded by other hotels, plus restaurants and stores. The location, admittedly, isn’t a picturesque one, but the services — including complimentary theme park and airport transportation — amenities, and themed suites make this hotel one of our favorites in San Antonio.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

The hotel offers deluxe accommodations, with plush bedding, flat-screen TVs, marble bathrooms (with showers and tubs) and more. Rollaway beds and cribs are available upon request and complimentary, as are connecting rooms.

Deluxe Rooms
This is the hotel's most basic offering, though it's anything but basic, with 400 to 425 square feet of space and one king or two queen beds.

Premier Rooms
These rooms offer a king bed, plus a separate living area that houses a sleeper sofa -- perfect for a family of four.

Governor's Suite
This grand suite, which spans 1,283 square feet, has two bedrooms, a wet bar, refrigerator and dining table. It's ideal for a family of four or five.

Omni Suite
This room is located on the 20th floor, affording some of the hotel's best views. It has a sofa bed and sitting area, plus a table for board games. It easily connects to a parlor room, where meetings are often hosted. It's perfect for the corporate traveler who is also vacationing with his or her family.

Presidential Suite
Of course, this is the largest suite, at 1,315 square feet. Located on the 20th floor, it has a refrigerator, wet bar, dining room, living room and two bedrooms. It's truly home away from home.

Discovery Suite
The Discovery Suite is the ultimate room for kids, with two twin beds (with pink or blue bedding), a mini-basketball court, chalkboard wall, video games and more. It is attached to a room with a king bed.

Aquatica Suite
You won't find a room like this anywhere else. Designed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of SeaWorld San Antonio in 2014, the suite features nautical décor, a goodie-filled treasure chest, and a saltwater aquarium that extends from the bedroom to the bathroom. It also offers board and video games, and connects to a room with a king bed for parents.

Great Hotel

by Frank S

We were picked up by the Omni shuttle at the SA Airport. Check-in was polite and efficient. Room was comfortable. The hotel provided a complimentary driver and a Lincoln Navigator to drive us to and pick us up at a restaurant twenty minutes away.
The bar at the Omni made an excellent Old Fashion. We had an early morning flight and the driver and the Lincoln Navigator took us to the airport.
Great hotel!

Recent San Antonio Omni Colonnade Stay

by debbiesI7240FY

Great hotel, convenient location, very friendly and helpful staff. They hosted a conference that I attended and everything was very well taken care of from the meals at breakfast and lunch, to our mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks, and the rooms were awesome.

Family Activities

Pools
The hotel has an expansive outdoor pool, where pool games are often hosted during peak travel periods. Dive-in movies are also presented in the summer months, and complimentary popcorn is served. A poolside bar serves tropical cocktails and light bites seasonally, as well.

Inside, you'll find another pool, along with a hot tub. Both of the pools are open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.

Omni Sensational Kids
Offered at all Omni Hotels and Resorts, Omni Sensational Kids is the chain's traditional children's program. Kids are given a goodie-filled backpack upon arrival; it's filled with healthy eating-inspired treats, such as a twisty tomato straw and activity book with recipes. Children are also treated to milk and cookies with turndown service.

Rooftop Apiary
The hotel is home to thousands of bees, but don't worry -- they live on the roof! Added in 2014, the beehives were rescued from local homes and businesses. Now, the hotel uses the hives to jar fresh honey -- purchase some to take home as a unique souvenir.

Family Dining

Bolo's
Head to Bolo's for delicious cuisine inspired by South America and the Caribbean. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Breakfast includes traditional dishes, such as eggs Benedict, French toast, and Huevos Rancheros, while lunch and dinner deliver salads, steaks, tortas and fajitas, plus a fantastic selection of handcrafted cocktails.

The hotel offers a separate kids' menu that doubles as a coloring sheet, and May to September, kids have a chance to meet characters from the local theme parks!

Morsel's
If you're looking for grab-and-go items, such as coffee, pastries, salads and sandwiches, you'll find them at Morsel's. It's open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Cabana
Open in the summer months, Cabana is situated by the pool and offers burgers, salads, sandwiches and other favorites, plus tropical cocktails to quench your thirst on a hot day (and there are plenty of those in San Antonio).

In-Room Dining
Room service is available 24 hours a day, with kids' options available.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Wi-Fi
While Wi-Fi isn't complimentary, guests can sign up to become an Omni Select Guest -- it's free -- and receive free Wi-Fi and other perks, such as free coffee service for your room in the morning (upon request).

Packages
The hotel regularly offers packages that combine theme park admission, transportation and accommodations at the hotel. The hotel is close to Six Flags, SeaWorld and Morgan's Wonderland.

The Art of Smart Timing
The hotel sees a mix of corporate and leisure travelers, with most families visiting during the summertime. If you can escape after summer vacations end, you'll enjoy temperate weather and fewer crowds in San Antonio.

Getting There
Fly into San Antonio International Airport, a short drive from the hotel. Expect typical traffic around rush hour periods.

Getting Around
The hotel offers complimentary shuttle services to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and San Antonio International Airport. Shuttle service is also available for anything within a 5-mile radius of the property.

Otherwise, you'll need a car to get around, but you can rest assured that the hotel offers plenty of free, self-parking. Valet is available upon request, for a fee.

For Mom and Dad
Head to the lobby bar for a nightcap, or plan a quiet dinner at Bolo's. If grandma and grandpa can hang back with the kids, you might consider heading downtown to stroll along the romantic River Walk.
