Overview

Planning to take your tweens or teens to see a show at Origin Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado? We highly recommend you stay at Origin Red Rocks, the official hotel partner of the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Guests of the boutique hotel—which opened in 2018—enjoy shuttle service to the concert venue via the VIP Concert Package.

Other perks at Origin Red Rocks include pet-friendly accommodations; a Mexican restaurant with full-service bar; an outdoor courtyard with family-friendly games; mountain bike rentals; a water bottle refilling station; in-room camping, S’mores kits and other goodies for kids; and musically inspired decor (think concert posters and records) throughout the hotel. There’s also an acoustic guitar in the lobby, where you’ll often see guests lounging and playing music in front of the fireplace. Wi-Fi and parking are complimentary to guests.

Even if you aren’t planning to see a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, this funky hotel is convenient for families planning to visit Golden (about 10 minutes away), Denver (about 30 minutes away), and Rocky Mountain National Park (an hour and a half from the hotel). You don’t have to travel far for a good hike, either—there are plenty of trails within a short walk or drive of the property. The hotel is also within steps of a convenience store, coffee shop and brewery.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

Origin Red Rocks offers guestrooms and suites that can best be described as minimalist-meets-luxury. All accommodations are equipped with mini-fridges and free Wi-Fi. Complimentary cribs and rollaway beds are available upon request.

Want to wow the kids? Book the Family Adventure Package! The package includes an in-room tent, sleeping bags, all the fixings for S'mores to make at the fire pit on the outdoor patio, 25-percent off rates for local adventures, and some other surprise treats.

While the hotel offers a wide variety of accommodations, these are the best options for families:

Double Queen Classic
This room offers two queen beds, sleeping up to four guests. There's also a Double Queen Accessible option that's equipped with a roll-in shower, in addition to an in-room coffeemaker.

King Suite Corner View
This suite features panoramic views of the area, a king bed, and a seating area with a sleeper sofa. It also has a coffeemaker.

Red Rocks Suite
This is the ultimate room at Origin Red Rocks! The 900-square-foot Red Rocks Suite features a large living area with a sleeper sofa, lounge chairs, and a six-person dining table. It also has a separate bedroom with a king bed, bathroom with shower and tub, and a half bath. This room can sleep four to five guests with the addition of a crib or rollaway bed.

Origin Suite
The Origin Suite is similar to the Red Rocks Suite, with a spacious living area with sofa, lounge chairs, and a dining table for six. It has a separate king bedroom, full bathroom with a shower and tub, and a half bath. Because the couch is a sleeper sofa, this suite can comfortably sleep four to five guests with the addition of a rollaway bed or crib.

Bunk Suite
This is, without a doubt, the best room option for large families! It sleeps eight guests total, with two sets of bunk beds (especially fun for kids), a king bed in a private bedroom, and a sleeper sofa. The Bunk Suite has one full bathroom with a shower only. There's also an in-room coffeemaker.

Its all about Location!

by kmcd1114

We stayed at this hotel for a fundraiser. Rooms are very modern, but comfortable. Front desk staff were amazing! Lookig forward to staying next summer for a concert at Red Rocks. They have shuttles( book in advance!)! What a nice addition to Golden!

Great Find in the midst of a Snowstorm!

by JaneKuta

This hotel was in such a nice location! I got caught in a snowstorm and had to stop for the night. I am so glad this is what I found! Great location and such a cute, modern and comfortable room! The overwhelmed staff of one in the bar/restaurant gave the best service in the calmest manor I've ever seen in this environment! Definitely coming back with my family!

Family Activities

Bikes
The hotel has a bike share program that allows guests to rent mountain bikes free of charge, a fun activity for families with tweens and teens. If you decide to bring your own bikes, the hotel has a complimentary storage area for them, as well as a bike repair station.

Family Dining

Nomad Taqueria and Beer Garden
Nomad Taqueria and Beer Garden serves Mexican fare for breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus brunch on weekends. Breakfast includes burritos, tacos, and our favorite, the Huevos Rancheros. But you can also get standard favorites such as eggs and toast or a breakfast sandwich.

For lunch and dinner, there's salads, soups (including green chile, a local favorite), and tacos, plus larger entrees such as adobo pork tenderloin and grilled Mahi Mahi. Nomad even serves a burger (with green chile, avocado, lime cream and red onion, of course).

The restaurant offers a full kids' menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Hours
Nomad is open 7 a.m. to midnight daily; the kitchen closes at 11 p.m. Brunch is served between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on weekends.

The Best Time to Visit
Origin Red Rocks is busiest (and rates are highest) during Red Rocks Amphitheatre's summer concert season, which runs from April to October. If you aren't planning to see a show and have some flexibility in your schedule, consider a visit during the fall.

Getting There
Origin Red Rocks is about 45 minutes from Denver International Airport. Plan to rent a vehicle.

Getting Around
You'll want your own vehicle to explore the local area, as most of the towns and attractions are spread out.

For Parents
Enjoy local beer, wine and cocktails at Nomad Taqueria and Beer Garden—with or without the kids! The beer garden features bright, green spaces; lounge chairs; live music most nights; and games your kids or family can play together. We also recommend Over Yonder Brewing Company, which is just across the parking lot. The beer is great, and there's usually live music there, too.
