Good hotel

by R110QKcarol

I visited this hotel on the last week of the season so it was very quiet . I found the hotel very good with helpful staff. It is large complex that seems to take over the promenade . There are 3 pools and a lovely beach and right outside the front you are in the heart of the resort . The resort is too loud and lively for me high season but is quiet in Oct. Wasnt any entertainment as nearly closing and food is a bit hit and miss . Would go back to this hotel but only in the quieter months . The weather was great for time of year and it was a lovely setting with the beach on the doorstep

Disappointing

We stayed here for a week in mid October and were quite disappointed from the outset possibly because of the quality of our previous few holidays but from entering the reception it looked very ordinary and lacked in any wow factor.

Whilst the reception staff were civil it was all very functional and lacked any feeling of being welcomed

We were virtually dragged round to our room by a young porter who we think he just wanted a tip (which we gave) so he could rush back to get his next potential tip

Although the room was quite small it was clean & functional with a very good shower the balcony was very small

As we were celebrating a big birthday we had mentioned this and requested a room with a sea view- which technically we got if you stood on the balcony & craned your neck you could just see it through the trees

There was clean towels every day, some days they made the bed other days they just left the sheet folded up even when birthday cards all around the room there was no extra effort made the bins were only emptied once

We had to ask for additional toilet rolls to be told we needed to look along the hallway as they should be some there

The noise from the nearby nightclub was very loud from about 22:00hrs to 03:00hrs & also noise echoed in the hallway from people coming in & you could also hear what others were doing in their rooms!!

It was less than 50m to beach which was brilliant & loads of sun beds which we never had a problem with

We knew it would be local spirits & wine etc however we didn’t expect them to be so awful- we tried everything they did & settled on peach schnapps not that this was good it was just less bad than the other choices- the wine was putrid

In the bar areas it was virtually impossible to avoid being surrounded by smokers I would estimate that @ 80% of people there was smoking which we found hard work to escape from particularly as there was no indoor bar area to go to for a bit of respite

The food lacked in quality or choice with the same things often being served up but labelled different there was a distinct lack of vegetables (apart from bland / cold broccoli)

In a morning there was one toaster to serve everyone

In an evening we sat in the ladybird bar watching people queue up to rush into the restaurant when it opened - it was like bus loads had arrived as & 100 people dashed in the first minute of it opening - watching people go in was far better than the food

As we sat there we heard another family laughing and made to those in the restaurant eating that s**t & they wouldn’t

We ate out several times

We have been to turkey several times & this is by far the worst we have experienced

Although I would go back to Turkey we will never we go back to Parkin Ayaz or Gümbet?

At best I think this hotel is a poor to 3* in my view spend a bit more & go somewhere else
