Quick stay in Kapaa

by Pat S

We’ve stayed at Plantation Hale a few times and it’s a condo with separate bedroom so you get a good amount of space at a decent price if you can reserve early. The location is right in Kapaa near grocery stores and CVS next door which is good. The not so good thing is the traffic buildup in that area because there’s a bypass road connecting to the main road not far from there. If you’re heading toward Lihue just allow for more time to get there unless it’s early.

Great weeks stay!

We stayed at Plantation Hale Suites for the week as part of a vacation package we have. We arrived a little early before 3pm to see if we could check in but our room wasn't ready yet and told to come back at 3pm so we went to Long's down the street and when we got back our room was available. The front desk staff was friendly.
We were on the 2nd floor in building K with a room that faced the ocean...great!! The condo was clean inspecting it as we entered. There was a kitchen area to the left with a living space with a table straight ahead. The table could fit four people and since it was just the two of us, there was plenty of space. The bathroom was to the right along with the bedroom. There were two beds...felt like fulls..maybe small queens. There is also a nice wide balcony area with two chairs.
We couldn't get the cable in the living room to work but no biggie. There are a few things that could be updated but overall, we had a great stay. We just wished they had a broom in the room as with going to the beach, you get sand in your shoes but we managed. There is also a laundry room on the first floor of this building (I believe each building had their own laundry room). We didn't use the pools but there were 3 on the property. There was plenty of parking space near each building - we never had any issues parking. We didn't get/pay for any extra housecleaning services through our vacation plan which was cool and what we were used to traveling this way. You could also get pool towels as well but make sure you return them.
Overall great stay and would consider staying here again. I loved its convenience between the north shore and south/west shore areas. Traffic can get heavy in the area but it's nothing we aren't use to living near the Dallas, TX area.
