A most romantic retreat in the ricefields

by michaelfiene

Created by the late Prince Agung, who sadly passed away three months ago, this is a whole small village resort - with Balinese cottages right in the middle of the surrounding ricefields, an often found concept in Bali, however here the visionary Prince Agung shared the land and revenue from the start with the village‘s farmers.
In turn, our small group was treated to a wonderful evening of dance and gamelan with almost 100 participants, all from the village and surroundings.

Experience village life in this place off the beaten track

Village like compound within a Balinese rural village surrounded by rice paddies. The resort is made up of different bungalow style rooms at different parts of the village, all surrounded by the rice fields. The central part cosists of the lobby, grand bale, and a few open halls for breakfast, lunch and dinner, The spirit of the place and the thrill to be in rural Bali counts here. It is not pure luxury, at some point even basic (e.g. breakfast), but the staff is open en caring, dinner delicious. Service level is high. Although our reservation was nof confirmed by the booking site, the staff found us a bungalow and did not charge us.
