Terrible service, passport almost lost

by oanderson813

I was put up in this hotel after a flight was cancelled and had an AWFUL time. We gave our passports for the front desk to copy and not even 30 minutes later they called our room saying one passport was not given to them, which is completely false. They barely tried looking for it and did not take us seriously until we said we were going to the police station to file a report so I could get back to Lima. They ended up finding it on the floor after being EXTREMELY unhelpful and repeatedly saying we had not given it to them. Afterwards, dinner was subpar and the room was fine.

Comfortable at a reasonable price

by polarbearonthinice

Stayed here August 2015 with a large group of 14 year old British school children at the start and end of our Peru expedition.
Rooms were above basic and beds were comfortable.
Staff were helpful and efficient.
There is a small lift, very useful for getting luggage up to rooms and people suffering from altitude symptoms.
Wifi downstairs and PC use available.
The Hotel is at the bottom of the hill opposite the Sun Temple. This means a walk up hill to the main part of the town taking between 20 minutes to half an hour depending on fitness and how you have adapted to the altitude. Don't stay here if you can't manage the hill.
Breakfast was a buffet and was limited in what was on offer. Some hot food, plenty available but not impressive in variety.
Building work next door woke us early, but wasn't a problem for us as we needed to get going elsewhere.
Overall, a good base for a low cost stop over, but if you are staying in Cusco for a few days and can afford it, I suggest opting for a hotel up hill, nearer the Centre.
