Convention center hotel

by Carolina_Traveler_7

This hotel is conveniently located across the street from the convention center. The standard room has a small refridgerator which was handy.
I've stayed here for several years for a fall conference and was startled how helpful the staff were. This is a change from previous years, when the rules were the rules and there were no changes or flexibility. Very much appreciated.
The rooms are fine - the major drawback is that the bathroom does not have an exhaust fan. Much was made about the renovation/upgrade; it's a shame that this basic need was not taken care of. Parking is expensive, but there are other decks nearby that are more reasonable.
Overall I was very pleased with the hotel.

Good gym, LOUD ROOMS

by Ashleylovesauburn

We stayed last weekend and liked the walkable downtown area that the Marriott City Center inhabits. There are plenty of wonderful dining choices nearby including the Rye restaurant at the hotel (food was good). The gym was excellent and had a variety of updated weights, Pelotons, treadmills and nice machines. HOWEVER we found the rooms were not peaceful when it comes to noise. We had a group next to us with thumping hip hop music and loud laughing, etc., until 11pm. I called the front desk twice and apparently nothing was accomplished. So, for business travelers it is probably excellent during the week but watch out for the clueless party crews in the weekend. You can hear everything very easily!
