Reviews

Like Lovina in general, we found it a little lacking

by Michael_and_Jessie

Actual staff are nice and accommodating (after a little pushback), but as other reviewers have said, this street is a bit of a web of folks after your business.

Saving graces:
Pool was very nice
Warung just up the street was amazing (Warung 6, maybe, can't remember the name)
Kids playing soccer on the beach welcomed us to the game (closer to Lovina 'proper')

Head down the road a bit further to Pemuteran and patronize the business folks who are truly and warmly welcoming and excited for your visit.

Awful from start to finish...

Pulling up to the hotel we were a bit uneasy as it is located in a very quiet street, with only 1 or 2 other hotels on it and 5 restaurants. Every business seemed to be connected to one another so no option to haggle for prices.

At the end of the street is a "beach" if you can call it that, its more of a harbour with no places to sit or even spend 2 minutes without being hassled to buy something or go on a day trip.

Upon arrival at 5pm our room still wasnt available so had to wait around an hour to check in whilst it was being prepared.

The first impression of the hotel is not so bad as the garden and the pool looks nice and we were offered a welcome drink. However it took all of 30 minutes for this to be changed. As we waited for our room to be ready we were hassled by a man selling day trips who is connected to the hotel and felt pressured into giving him an answer right then and there. We were glad we decided against it as we got a trip to see the dolphins at 1/5th of the price he offered.

We booked a room with 3 single beds to find that one was just a matress on the floor. After unrolling the towel placed on my bed many ants crawled out which is a worrying start to the cleanliness of the hotel. Once i mentioned it to reception, the staff member proceeded to sweep them onto the floor and thought this would be a statisfactory resolution. They offered to move us into a double bed room, which was even dirtier and had electricity cables hanging out from the wall. After quite some time complaining to staff members who didnt understand basic english we finally got our room swept and mopped and a third bed frame.
The bathroom was very basic with an old dirty plastic sink and a shower head attached to the wall so the whole bathroom got wet when it was turned on. We also ran out of water after two people had a 5/10 minute shower without hot water. There was also many ants in the bath room too behind the toilet and in the toilet brush holder.

To make matters worse the door was not secure and had a huge gap between the door and the lock itself. There was no safe provided in the room so we didnt feel like our valuables were safe in this hotel at all.
Our room only had a fan in but it stopped working during the night and made it too uncomfortable to sleep.
Only one plug socket was found in the room which i dont think is satisfactory for 3 guests and the small bedside lights on the wall had the bulb exposed but didnt work either.

The hotel offers free wifi which only works in reception and isnt a strong connection anyway. There is no option to use the wifi in the rooms or by the pool and is turned off at night. The night security doesnt speak any english so we had to find another local who did to try and translate for us to solve this issue. Neither understood what we wanted but after searching around the hotel for 30 minutes we finally found the rooter and resolved the problem ourselves.

After a bad first night we woke up for breakfast to find out it finishes at 10am after being told upon checking in that breakfast finishes at 10:30am. We only had 3 options which were not very appealing and were very small. The bread had mould spots on and the egg was very dry.
They offer free tea and coffe during the stay but never seemed to have milk in the hotel even on the second day of our stay when we asked a few times the day before.

We felt very very unsafe in this hotel as we were the only guest staying here and there were locals hanging around the front on the hotel at all times of the day even during the night.

After all of the trouble we had during our stay we asked for a late check out as we had a boat trip in the morning and transport at 2pm. We were told this was okay but 20 minutes later they changed their mind and asked us to leave the hotel.
