Exceeded expectations

by Natalya N

We came 3 hours before check-in time, but they found us room available right away. I appreciated that they asked if we'd like airport (cool to watch planes taking off and landing) or city view ( more quite and looks at the downtown). They also asked if we wanted lower or higher floor. The corner king room was oversized and comfortable. The hotel is massive - we liked it very much. Had nice dinner at the hotel too. The staff is awesome - smiles are everywhere you go!

Best of Three Hotels on My ATL Trip

by bornthatway_traveler

I stayed for one night (sadly not more) at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta due to some unforeseen circumstances at another hotel. Quite frankly, I wanted to stay all my nights here, since I adore plane-spotting and flying. All their rooms were sold out for any other night unfortunately, so I had to arrange another hotel afterward, but my one night there was well-worth it! Absolutely five stars.

- Again, atmosphere was perfect, particular for me. I stayed in a runway view room, which yes, is certainly noisy. Beware for folks just getting off a plane and sleeping for a night while in-transit, because desperate sleep will not be very likely. In my case, I was at a leisurely pace and expected the whooshes of jets, so I became comfortable and familiar with the sounds so it didn’t bother me at all. The views, though...to die for!! The balcony I had was a clever touch as well.

- As to be expected for a more upmarket brand like Renaissance, the lobby/dining/amenities/etc. were excellent. Perhaps slightly more dated than other properties, but recent renovations made all the public areas and rooms very well-appointed. Photos of Delta Air Lines planes line the walls of the small, interior atrium, which adds that authentic feel. Also, I noticed a station where travelers could, I believe, check in right away to their flights on Delta and Southwest, and I considered such a service to be really beneficial to passengers hoping to be quick and efficient!

- The hotel restaurant was quite delicious, hosting an energetic bar with sweeping views of the nearby tarmac. As not being 21 just yet (ha), I enjoyed a refreshing meal in the dining room, and incredible dessert!

- Staff exemplified above-average customer service, as always expected. Somehow I did a terrible job with noting names of folks this trip, but the bellman who assisted with my luggage in the morning provided top-notch hospitality. Front desk staff were professional and welcoming at all times. Next time I check in, I will have my notepad ready to jot names!

-Having traveled in my wheelchair and needed transportation from their free airport shuttle, my experience on their van was efficient and relaxing. As required by law in any part of the United States, this ADA accommodation (i.e. an electric wheelchair lift) was smooth, and the driver knew how to operate the lift well.

- WiFi and perks like Mobile Key from my Bonvoy status were seamless throughout my stay.

So really, I can’t think of much else to comment on—it was a brief yet excellent stay! Please note: possibly try to reserve a room *away from* the runways if you feel your sleep will be impacted by jet noise. Nothing is ever 100% perfect, but it may help. I highly recommend this Renaissance!
