Renaissance Washington is located across from the Convention Center in the downtown Penn Quarter district between the White House and Capitol Hill. More than 800 rooms and suites feature plush bedding, expansive desks and high-speed Internet. Units are equipped with sittings areas and soundproof windows. Suites also showcase full living rooms, dining areas and private bedrooms. Fifteen Squares Restaurant is an American bistro open for breakfast and lunch. Liberty Market serves sandwiches and light fare in a grab-n-go style. Starbucks is also onsite. Concierge Lounge serves Continental breakfast, evening appetizers and beverages throughout the day. The Vida Fitness Center and Aura Spa are complimentary for guests. Families will appreciate the hotel’s online Navigator, which recommends hotspots loved by the locals.
National monuments and cultural museums are all within an arm’s reach at Renaissance. Teens can go for the Spy Museum, which details all the details of America’s crime investigations. Families can just as easily see a Washington Capitals hockey game at the nearby Verizon Center. The Metro is only a stroll away from the hotel.

We stayed here the first week of June 2019. It was the first time for us at a Renaissance property.
We were quite impressed. Similar to a Hyatt or Hilton (I think this is owned by Marriott).
I would suggest if there are 4 travelers in your party opt for the larger rooms - we did and it made our stay much better.
The hotel was clean and modern. There is a Starbucks in the lobby that opens at 5:30 am. Also there is a bar and restaurant. The hotel has fast elevators as well.
Our room was clean with comfortable beds and a nice shower. Stocked with plenty of large towels each day! Staff was friendly.
Hotel is 5 minutes from Mt. Vernon Square Metro stop. There are plenty of restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk.
We would stay here again when back in DC.
My stay at the Renaissance was very good overall. The room was very clean and the hotel had a nice bar as well. Breakfast at the lounge was only okay and appetizers at the lounge were average as well. The location of the hotel was very good as well - close to a main metro station.
