BJ’s Brewhouse is quite a family-friendly place, with a large open dining room, mounted TVs and plenty of ambient noise that camouflages your own kids’ conversation. When it comes to choosing your meal, plan to spend some time perusing the 11-page menu filled with appetizers, salads, soups, small plates, pizza, burgers, tacos, sandwiches, steaks, ribs, chicken and pasta. Yes, it’s a lot.

The kids’ menu, which is printed on the back page of an activity booklet, gives kids a “create your own” menu, wherein they can select their own entree (chicken tenders, mac n’ cheese, mini corn dogs, grilled cheese, kids’ burger and spaghetti), a side (veggies, fruit, applesauce, fries, etc.) and drink. A 6-inch, deep dish pizza also is available, along with a “bigger kids” menu with a drink and either grilled chicken or grilled chicken alfredo.

Whatever you choose, do NOT leave without sampling the pizookies, a cookie baked in a deep-dish pizza pan and topped with ice cream and specialty sauces.

Open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to midnight; open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.; and open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
