This is southern home-style cooking at its best and a place where your kids will be as comfortable as grandma’s kitchen. The menu includes mom’s meatloaf, pop’s pot roast and southern fried catfish. Of course, burgers, chicken strips and grilled cheese sandwiches are also good choices. Apple dumplings and ice cream sodas highlight the dessert menu.

Tables are covered with butcher-block paper and kids all receive crayons to create their best works of art. A select number of crayon creations are chosen for display around the restaurant. If your kids get restless, they are also welcomed to select a small toy from a bucket near the front door.

Caz Chowhouse is located in the Brady Arts District and open for lunch and dinner. Kids eat free on Wednesdays.
