Founded in El Paso in 1953, this chain of specialty rolled tacos was once featured on Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” The tacos, which are similar to flautas and covered with tomato sauce and cheese, are very popular among tourists, but they have gained a loyal following of El Pasoans, as well.

Other local favorites on the menu include their hot dogs (which are served on hamburger buns). Kids might also want to order a grilled cheese sandwich or a hamburger – but a Chico’s taco might be just the right size for a kid-sized appetite.
