Dylan’s Candy Bar

Corner of 3rd and 60th Street, 1011 3rd Avenue, New York City, NY

It would be a crime to visit New York and not take the kids to Dylan’s Candy Bar. We adults use the kids as an excuse to stock up on fresh, delicious candies by the bags. Growing from just a three-story candy shop into a full on restaurant with soda fountain, diners can enjoy the Candy Cafe or the Candy Bar. The Candy Cafe is serves up personal pizzas, sandwiches and a kids’ menu, as well as a number of sweet treats, desserts and drinks. It is open on Friday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the remaining weekdays from 12 to 9 p.m. The Candy Bar is open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 2 to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Here, seasonal drink specials, specialty cocktails, margaritas, mojitos, wine and beer are sold to parents, while the kid-friendly bar provides non-alcoholic milkshakes. Dylan’s is such a popular shop, it can get busy, especially on weekends, so expect crowds. (I’ll admit, sometimes a visit to this shop can be so chaotic that I need a visit to the bar to recoup!)
